Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonderful two break. I know I did! I am looking forward to this year and ready to get back to the classroom.
Last day for late work is WEDNESDAY! Due this week: Students should be turning in a green reading log towards their grade and the holiday break reading challenge for a prize. Both were handed out before the break. Next week starts DIBELS testing. We have been working diligently in the classroom on reading fluency, accuracy and retell. Now would be a good time to focus on that at home too. We will be jumping right into a new unit described below: Week 19 Objectives: Unit 3 Week 4: WILD WEATHER Essential Question: How does water affect us? Genre: Non-Fiction/ Informational/ expository (Students should know all 3 mean the same) Comprehension Strategy: Asking and Answering Questions Comprehension Skill: Main Idea and Key Details Grammar: The verbs have, has, had. Phonics Goal: long e sounds in words (ee, ey, ea, ie, y) Vocabulary Strategy: antonyms Vocabulary Words: damage, dangerous, destroy, event, harsh, prevent, warning, weather. Comments are closed.
